The Vampire Diaries get spinoff with The Originals

If you’re like me and can’t get enough of evil/sometimes good guy Klaus from The Vampire Diaries, then you’re in luck! TVD fans may get even more bloodsuckers in their lives with the announcement that The CW are potentially developing a spin off based on Joseph Morgan’s Klaus and his family of original vampires.

Viewers were first introduced to Original vampires in Season 2, with Klaus and his sister Rebekah (Claire Holt) and brother Elijah (Daniel Gilles) becoming reoccurring characters. The possible spinoff series, titled The Originals, will be set up during the April 26th episode of The Vampire Diaries, airing on MUCH.

In the April episode, Klaus will return to the French Quarter of New Orleans to revisit the city he helped build and be reunited with his protege. Phoebe Tonkin’s character Hailey will also star. The Vampire Diaries Executive Producer Julie Plec is slated to write the April episode.

Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries returns this week with brand new episodes every Friday at 8E/5P.
