While Willow Smith launched a career on hair whipping, Kat Graham’s video for Put Your Graffiti On Me gives the youngster a run for her coif-crazy money with Graham werkin’ her ponytail like nobodies business. With a neon-infused wardrobe that includes colour blocking bustiers, high-waisted shorts and a full body leopard suit (kudos on pulling that one off, Kat!), Graham has quickly cemented herself as a contender in the heavily saturated pop charts in 2012.
Showing off the dancing chops that have previously landed her spots in music videos for Akon’s Lonely and Justin Bieber and Usher’s Somebody to Love, Graham and her team of backup dancers keep the energy level high throughout the video with their Rhythm Nation-inspired choreography.
Put Your Graffiti On Me is Graham’s first single after announcing the details of her deal with A&M Octone Records on YouTube on February 2. If this video is any indication of where Graham is heading with Octone Records I think we’ll be seeing a lot more from the singer and not just every Friday night as Bonnie Bennet on The Vampire Diaries.
