I’m actually kinda (really) scared right now. Like, biting my nails in anticipation the way you do when you watch a figure skating championship. You’re rooting for them and you want to watch, but you’re so scared that they’ll fall, and it’s awkward to witness.
The new song and video (released yesterday on the band’s MySpace page!) for Love Is Noise by The Verve is so, SO good. It’s got that hungry, powerful sound of a reunion song and the video screams “we’re back!!”. It’s been eleven (!) years since the epic, top-10-desert-island-worthy Urban Hymns was released, and there’s a LOT of pressure on the band to perform.
Of all the music to come out of the UK, I’ve rarely seen such a split between favourite albums - talk to any Verve diehard and ask them to pick their favourite of the three - A Northern Soul,A Storm In Heaven and Urban Hymns - it’s a question that elicits a lot of headscratching and debate. It’s tough. They’re all equally flawless.
Forth comes out on August 19 and I couldn’t be more excited now that I’ve seen this video and heard inklings of a few other tracks. It’s gonna be a good one. Don’t let us down, Richard.
Check out the album art. And notice that it’s forth (forward in time) and not fourth (even though it’s their fourth album).

Watch the video:
P.S.: Richard has apparently still got it. SO sexy.

there is definitely nothing sexy about richard, the video is pretty good, not too fond of the song though, that cloud photo is amazing.
That video is so sweet

This is an awesome comeback song and the video is great! Can’t wait for their album. And after watching their performance at Glastonbury I kind of regret not seeing them back in May.
