The Voice adds a new element to their show called “The Steal”

The Voice is about to get a new plot twist in its upcoming season! The show, which will return to MUCH this fall, will be adding a new element called “The Steal” where coaches get to claim singers that other coaches cut.

The first round will still go accordingly where judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton each acquire 16 singers by blind auditions, but in the battle rounds, the numbers will be cut by half and it’s then that judges get to call dibs on each other’s pile of cut contestants. Each judge will get a chance to pick up two more singers from the other judges.

“It’s a brilliant piece of TV,” Levine said, at a press conference. He’s right – it’s pretty darn brilliant! Imagine all the extra drama this season!
