The Wanted have released their first single off the band’s upcoming third studio album, Battleground, due out November 4. I Found You features the same backing track as The Wanted’s Glad You Came, but possesses a much darker feel for a pop song. The five lads have gone even darker with the video, a violent match that requires a parental discretion note at the beginning of the music video.
Clad in ties and overcoats and sporting black eyes, the video opens with The Wanted looking like a walking GQ ad, making their way down a London street to rescue a woman who has been bound and gagged. Fighting their way through an abandoned house, the rescue takes a surprising turn, with the band members looking calm, cool and collected throughout.
The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaren describes the subject matter of I Found You, saying “It’s about finding someone, whether it be in the rain, in the darkness. It’s about being lost, but found.” Judging by the music video, The Wanted may not be the men you want to find you.
