Yep, above is a cropped look at the cover for Feist’s upcoming new album, Metals. Following a promotional campaign that allowed her fans to paint in the cover by numbers, she’s now also revealed the tracklisting to go along with the October 4th release date (via Arts & Crafts) and the fall tour, which includes seven Canadian dates in November and December. Over the weekend, The Flaming Lips were one of many bands to play the Osheaga Music & Arts Festival at Parc Jean Drapeau in Montreal. However, the were (likely) the only band to perform a wedding on stage. Frontman Wayne Coyne originally performed the ceremony between groom Graham and bride Robyn (who were dressed as Wizard of Oz characters) back stage, but then re-enacted the event during the band’s encore, saying: “By the power of The Flaming Lips, the universe and LSD, I now pronounce you man and wife!” (Via NME)
If you enjoyed the Beastie Boys’ latest new Spike Jonze-directed video for “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win,” well, you can now also own the action figures of the three MCs that starred in the clip. But it will cost you. Sold as a set, it includes the three “fully poseable” figures, extra outfit parts, and a deluxe version of Beastie Boys Anthology: The Sounds of Science. The price? $750. But all proceeds go to two child cancer charities, so think of it more as a charitable donation. (Under the Radar)
And if you’re excited about the upcoming debut album from Wild Flag, the supergroup featuring members of Sleater-Kinney, Helium and The Minders, you can now watch a teaser trailer for the self-titled LP featuring plenty of attractive people trying to shoot down a giant yellow balloon with bows and arrows to snippets of music.
