Thanks to the London riots, a major fire engulfed a Sony DADC warehouse in Enfield. The three-storey, 20,000 square-metre distribution centre holds stock for the Pias Group, which handles more than 150 record labels. Among the labels affected by the fire include Beggars (4AD, XL, Matador), Domino, Warp, FatCat, Mute, Rough Trade and Soul Jazz, to name a few. Pias issued a statement downplaying the incident, writing, “Pias is working closely with SonyDADC who are implementing their emergency plans. Pias’s UK offices in London and all other areas of our business are unaffected. More information will be communicated shortly to all our labels and partners.” (Via Guardian)
French electro house giants Justice have revealed some more details about their second album. Titled Audio, Video, Disco will be released on October 25th via Ed Banger and features guest vocals from Diamond Nights’ Morgan Phalen, Vincenzi Vendetta of Midnight Juggernauts, and UK singer Ali Love on first single “Civilization.” According to Pitchfork‘s description it “filters 1970s arena rock and prog through Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay’s sledgehammering electro style.” (Via Pitchfork)
Following up yesterday’s headline news, Portugal. The Man have recovered their van and trailer, but that’s it for the time being. On Facebook the band posted, “Quick Update…The Van & Trailer have been recovered. They are both EMPTY. We will not know the condition of the them until we get to see them in the next few hours. Hopefully they are intact.” (Via Facebook)
Surfer Blood have finally released some info about their follow-up to 2010′s Astro Coast. Tarot Classics will be a four-song EP and will be released via Kanine on October 25th. All formats will include remixes by School of Seven Bells, Speculator, Baroness’ Allen Blickle, and Totally Sincere. (Via One Thirty BPM)
Radiohead have compiled all of the King of Limbs remixes for an double album titled RADIOHEAD: TKOL RMX. The 19 remixes include a first disc of previously released remixes by Caribou, Four Tet and Lone, while the second disc will feature unreleased remixes by Modeselektor, Jamie xx and SBTRKT, among others. The album will first be released in Japan on September 16th, with other territories following three weeks later. (Via Consequence of Sound)Tweet
