Los Campesinos have lost a member. Harriet Campesinos!, the band’s violinist, has announced her departure so she can focus on school. In a blog post, the band wrote that she’s left “to return to her studies and pursue the many dreams she has outside of music.” Harriet will play two final shows before she bids farewell. The US Open is underway at Flushing Meadows in New York City. While the main focus is on tennis, anyone attending the tournament can also take in some music. A number of artists will be performing around the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Some of them are even worth seeing, like Wye Oak, Miniature Tigers and Canada’s own Great Lake Swimmers. (Via US Open)

One of the most prolific bands in the biz, Thee Oh Sees, will release their second album of 2011 on November 15th. Following up June’s Castlevania, John Dwyer and co. actually recorded the album around the time its predecessor was released. All tracks on Carrion Crawler/The Dream are brand new, and the band will be touring leading up to and following its release. Five Canadian dates are on the schedule, including Vancouver, Victoria, Halifax, Montreal and Toronto. (Via One Thirty BPM)
