The Wedge A.M. News Round Up: Hear Jack White & Insane Clown Posse track

August 31st, 2011

It’s the collaboration no one was waiting for, but now that it’s out everyone is excited to hear: Jack White and Insane Clown Posse. Oh, and Mozart. And Jeff The Brotherhood. Yes, White’s label Third Man Records dropped this doozy on the world this morning. Produced by White, the track is called “Leck Mich Im Arsch” or as the press release puts it “literally translated to English as ‘Lick me in the arse,’” and “marries Mozart’s melody (and lyrics sung in operatic German) with ICP’s poignant lyrical addition in English and Jeff the B’s monster-riffs, letting the whole thing tie together in the most beautiful of ways.” You have to hear it for yourself, but if you can probably guess what it sounds like and be spot on. Yesterday we told you that Welsh indie wunderkinds Los Campesinos! had lost one of their long-time members Harriet. Now they’re announcing a new album. Hello Sadness, the band’s third longplayer, will be out via Arts & Crafts on November 15th. The label describes it as “their most melodic, direct and exhilarating, featuring ten songs of love, loss and heartbreak. It is an honest, bare-bones documentation of two people breaking up and trying not to break up in the process, and is simultaneously the most focused collection by Los Campesinos! to date.” (Via Arts & Crafts)

Manic Street Preachers have unveiled details for their upcoming singles collection. National Treasures will feature the band’s 37 singles released since 1990 as well as a brand new track, well, a new cover of The The’s “This Is The Day.” The compilation is out on Halloween via Columbia.
