English singer-songwriter Kate Bush hasn’t released new material since 2005 until now. She is set to release her 10th studio album, 50 Words For Snow on November 21 via Fish People, which happens to be her own record label. The album is 65 minutes long and consists of seven tracks, which she recorded during the same time she was working on Director’s Cut, an album made up of re-recorded and re-worked songs from her past albums. As we all know, yesterday was the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. 10 years ago, Ariel Pink began writing “Witch Hunt Suite for World III,” a 16-minute long song inspired by 9/11. In 2007, the song was featured on an exclusive tour-only CD but now it has been released on iTunes, in lieu of the 10th anniversary. If you don’t want to buy the single, you can watch the new music video for the song directed by Animal Charm. (Via Pitchfork)
The Less You Know, The Better is DJ Shadow’s upcoming album coming out October 4. Today, he revealed that Talib Kweli, Posdnous (De La Soul), Little Dragon, and Tom Vek will be featured on the album. It consists of a whopping 16 tracks and you can listen to two of the songs now, including “Warning Call” feat. Tom Vek and “I Gotta Rokk.” (Via Pitchfork)
I think we can all agree that we love free stuff, especially free music. San Francisco art-rockers Deerhoof, have (legally) released 99% Upset Feeling, a live album you can stream or download for no charge off their website. There are 10 songs featured on the album, one being a cover of the Ramones’ “Pinhead.” (Via Deerhoof Vs Evil)
In more album news, you can stream the new Ladytron album over at SoundCloud. Gravity the Seducer is the fifth LP from the English electropop group. The band will be going on a North American tour soon, visiting Vancouver on September 28, Toronto on October 5, and Montreal on October 6. (Via Pitchfork)
