The Wedge A.M. News Round Up: Krist Novoselic to play Nevermind in Seattle

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Nevermind, Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic is joining a group of musicians on stage at the Sky Church as part of the Experience Music Project in Seattle on September 20 to play the album in full. The is in addition to the box set reissue of the album, the London exhibit in celebration of Nevermind and a front page pictorial on Spin Magazine of the now 20 year-old man who is the baby from the albums iconic cover. In other Nirvana-related news, Frances Bean Cobain, who turns 19 today, has become the talk of the fashion world after photos of Cobain taken by photographer Hedi Slimane surfaced two weeks ago. Now more photos of Frances Bean, taken by Rocky Schenck, have appeared online. It’ll be interesting to see whether the teen will continue living out of the spotlight or take the opportunity to put her lineage to work. (Via Rolling Stone)

The Arctic Monkeys have said that they feel it’s their duty to keep guitars on mainstream radio. The band explained to Shortlist Magazine that they chose Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair as the first single off their latest album Suck It and See because of its heavy guitar base.
