For the billions of people who aren’t packing into Chicago’s Grant Park this weekend for Lollapalooza 2011, good news: You’ll be able to stream the entire festival all weekend long. The long-running alt-fest has teamed up with YouTube to broadcast the three-day concert across two channels over at YouTube.com/lollapalooza. In case you’re wondering just who you can watch, there is a schedule set up showing which bands you’ll be able to see live. Death From Above 1979, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Black Lips and Smith Westerns are just a few of the more Wedge-friendly names. (Via One Thirty BPM)
The fire lit under Morrissey after he made comments last week comparing Norway’s recent massacre to the killing of animals by fast food chains seems to have died down. In a show of camaraderie, his former bandmate in The Smiths, Mike Joyce. The drummer tweeted, “Been asked a lot about the comments made by Moz regarding the slaughter of innocent animals every day. He’s right isn’t he?” I smell a Smiths reunion here! Kidding. (Via Spinner)
Previously it was reported that Loney Dear will release his new album on October 4th, Hall Music. Now we have some dates for a North American tour that will happen a month after the album release. While the tour is only six dates, two of them will be in Canadian cities: Montreal’s O Patro Vys on November 4th, and Toronto’s Drake Hotel on the 5th. (Via Under the Radar)
