Live On Letterman is a series in association with Late Night with David Letterman that features an hour-long set by a band and it streams online. Coldplay, Beady Eye, and Gorillaz have previously performed and last night Wilco graced the Ed Sullivan Theatre to promote their new album, The Whole Love. They played a handful of classics, like “Jesus Etc.” and “Impossible Germany,” as well as five new songs, including “Art of Almost,” “I Might,” “Born Alone,” “Whole Love,” and “Dawned On Me.” Wilco have mastered their live performances, even when they’re in a studio, with a small audience, and cameras in their face. 22 year-old Nika Roza Danilova, aka Zola Jesus, will be releasing her third album, Conatus via Sacred Bones on October 4. Her hyped new album is streaming in full exclusively at the Guardian. Also on the website is a track-by-track description by Danilova. (Via Guardian)

Two weeks ago, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler participated in the second annual Rock The Court charity basketball game in Toronto. Butler, Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam) and Dallas Green (City and Colour) were the musicians who played with and against current and former NBA players, including the San Antonio Spurs’ Matt Bonner. Consequence of Sound recently posted a video put together by The Score, which shows highlights of the game and you can watch it here. You would think the NBA players would be the obvious winners but the 6’4″ Butler proved to be a surprisingly talented basketball player. And you thought the Polaris Prize winner couldn’t get any cooler! (Via Consequence of Sound)

Last year Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) and Atticus Ross won an Oscar for their score of David Fincher’s film, The Social Network. Reznor and Fincher teamed up again for the American film version of the bestselling book, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
