February is Black History Month and on this week’s episode of The Wedge we take a look at some of the black artists that have contributed to the indie and alternative music we play on the show.
Of course, some of the more recognized artists like TV On the Radio and The Dears are name-dropped frequently, but there are a range of others, like Blood Orange (pictured), Solange, Trash Talk and Flying Lotus that have contributed greatly over the past year.
As well, we will explore the history of African music and its profound influence on contemporary indie acts like Vampire Weekend.
The Wedge airs every Wednesday at 11:30 PM EST. Follow us on Twitter at @MUCHTheWedge.
