The Wedge checks out the Polaris Music Prize shortlist

This past Tuesday, the shortlist for the 2012 Polaris Music Prize was announced in Toronto. The ten artists are: Cadence Weapon, Cold Specks, Drake, Kathleen Edwards, Feist, Grimes, Handsome Furs, Japandroids, Yamantaka // Sonic Titan and a little band called Fucked Up. The Wedge was on hand for the announcement, where Damian humbly accepted the nomination, just three years after his band actually won the prize.
On this week’s show, Damian interviews Polaris founder Steve Jordan, and nominees Grimes, Yamantaka // Sonic Titan and some guy named Pink Eyes. Plus videos from all the nominees that aren’t named Japandroids.
