Björk has opened the door for hackers to crack the iOS app recently launched to coincide with her forthcoming new album Biophilia. Currently exclusive only to Apple customers the app, the singer says she’s left it up to hackers to transfer it to other systems. “I’m not supposed to say this, probably, but I’m trusting that the pirates out there won’t tie their hands behind their back,” she said. Ryan Adams has spilled some details about his upcoming new album, Ashes & Fire. Set for release on October 11th via his own Triple A label, Adams has described it as “12 elegant country-rock songs” featuring Norah Jones and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ Benmont Tench. Adams worked with Glyn Johns (The Rolling Stones, The Who), father of producer Ethan Johns, who previously worked on the albums Heartbreaker, Gold and 29. (Via Twenty Four Bit)
Montreal native Dirty Beaches has announced another North American tour for the end of summer/beginning of fall. Neon Indian is now accepting pre-orders for his new album, Era Extraña, at his official site. While you can buy the album on CD and/or vinyl, a limited deluxe package includes the album on vinyl and CD, a T-shirt, a poster, and a very cool looking mini analog synthesizer. Named the PAL198X, the little synth is “a triple triangle-wave oscillator noisemaking device with interchangeable controls for maximal sonic contortion. You can attach knobs, light-reactive photocells, and a variety of other devices for semi-modular capabilities. It can interact with a variety of objects around your house whether electronic in nature or not. It can even interact with your pet. It does not make the same sound twice.” (Via Pitchfork)
And in case you missed Bon Iver’s live streaming concert last night from the 9:30 Club in D.C., you can still listen to and download it courtesy of NPR. (Via NPR)
