One great thing about Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is that they put great emphasis on their musical guests. Last year, they commemorated the reissuing of the Rolling Stones’ Exile On Main St. with a week full of bands covering a song off of the album. Next week, Pink Floyd will get similar treatment. Members Nick Mason and Roger Waters will appear on the show and Waters will perform “In The Flesh” from The Wall, with the Foo Fighters. Other bands to appear on the show include The Shins, MGMT, and Pearl Jam who will be performing “Breathe,” “Lucifer Sam,” and “Mother,” respectively. Kudos to Jimmy Fallon for doing such a creative tribute to a legendary band. (Via Rolling Stone)

Polaris Prize nominated Dan Mangan is about to release his third album, Oh Fortune via Arts & Crafts on September 27. You can stream the whole album before its release date over at Exclaim. Mangan takes a step forward with this new album by adding flourishing string arrangements and a fuller sound. But his classic sound that we all love still remains, like his use of folk elements and his growling, husky vocals. Mangan has already started his tour in support of Oh Fortune and will be playing five Ontario dates, as well as shows in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, and Victoria in the next few weeks.
