It appears as though Halloween this year will be a bit of a literal wash out, at least on the East Coast. And so what better way to comfort ourselves from all that impending loss of candy than to use music, the best medicine (sorry laughter, you’re so last year). Besides candy and costumes, Halloween is also a time to celebrate horror movies, and as we know, the 1980s was the best decade for the genre. I’d also like to make an argument for horror music as well. Or at least horror-themed (aka things that go bump in the night) music.
And so, here is a carefully chosen playlist featuring the best Halloweeny music recorded and/or released in the ’80s, mostly of a punk/post-punk/industrial nature. Enjoy!
