The White Stripes Visit Toronto YMCA

July 6th, 2007

The White Stripes are continuing to delight Canadian fans from coast-to-coast. Not only are they stopping in every province and territory, they are also indulging in some extra secret shows as well. Turns out they recently performed in a Toronto YMCA to a crowd of 6 to 12 year olds who belong to a summer day camp. Also in attendance were a bunch of fans who found out about the concert 15 minutes prior, due to a posting on the White Stripes’ main message board. The Globe and Mail explains how it all went down here. Log onto the message board! Maybe there will be a secret show in your town as well!

I’m not a White Stripes fan, per se, but man-oh-man, I appreciate their love of performing, of delighting their fans… In a celebrity culture full of divas and opportunists, The White Stripes seem to be an exception. Maybe I am a fan after all :)
