I hereby declare 2004 to be the Year of the Sister.
2003, the Year of the Trucker Cap is officially OVER.

Yes, from those nutty Hilton sisters, to everyone’s favourite “punk” tank top wearing fake-brunette sister Ashlee Simpson, this year is all about sisters. (FYI: Blondes have more fun, but fake-brunettes apparently sell more albums)

There’s even unfortunate nosed Haylie Duff, older sister of the Miss Piggy-like Hilary. The list goes on and on.

On the twin sister front you’ve got Natalie and Adria from Big Brother 5. You’ve got the Bush twins, drunk and slutty Jenna and boring rich-b*tch Barbara. You’ve got poor victim of society billionaire Mary Kate and her totally normal and happy sister Ashley Olsen. Oh those crazy twins. What’s the deal with Nina Sky? Are they twin sisters? Or just friends that dress alike like Kriss-Kross? I saw tv-hunk Matt(e) Babel interviewing them but got distracted and didn’t notice what the Nina Sky girls were saying. Have I mentioned how great I think Matt(e) is? Maybe he has a sister named glossy! (ha)

Who can forget newly single Barbie and her younger sister Skipper? Or still-in-prime-time-past-their-prime Patty and Selma? Canada has been graced by the wonderful talent of Joely Fisher, sister of Star Wars’ Carrie Fisher on Zoe Busiek Wild Card (I’m yet to meet anyone who has ever seen one minute of this show.) The Pointer Sisters have had another big year in 2004. So have the Andrews Sisters, the Gabor Sisters. Anne Landers and Dear Abby are still going strong. Sister Sister is still the #1 show on tv, Swing Out Sister can’t keep their records on the shelves. Neither can Twisted Sister.

My favourite sisters? It’s a tie between the Neptunes and Bea Arthur. You go girls!
