These Kids Wear Crowns Revamp Album

August 9th, 2010

Sup ery’body!

We got a lot going on right now so I’m just gonna start spittin’ it, yo! Old school. That means off the top of my head. Straight from YWU! YeWest University! OH!

August is an INSANE month for us. MuchMusic is launching our hour long disBAND Discovered episode on Wednesday, August 18th, 2010 at 8et/5pt. Our music video and single for “Break It Up” will be dropped that week as well! We are really excited for the release of all three of these things and have decided to call it our Trifecta of How To Wreck Ya. Remember, I’m just freestyling this so please bare with me. You too, bears.

Not only are we planning the release of our music video, single, and disBAND episode, but have also remixed and remastered our self produced EP with Mark Needham (Faber Drive, The Killers, Metro Station) who is generally a phenom of a human. In life. Generally.

He worked great magic, so this isn’t just a repackaged deal with a pretty new look. Every track has been touched up and reproduced just enough to make it better but not too much to make it depressingly different. There is also a new track on it AND an acoustic track and dance remix. We hope you enjoy it because we think it’s really awesome and is what we wanted our EP to be when we first recorded it. But hey, we were only 2 months old then. Would you ask a baby to paint you the Mona Lisa? No, you wouldn’t. But if it did, that’s a great baby. Keep it!

I’m getting distracted as I often do.

Now for music news and what’s to come! We are recording with GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Hedley, Nickelback) and Matt Squire (3OH!3, Panic! At the Disco, Katy Perry) for our first full length album to be released we hope sometime in the late fall of 2010. We are super excited to be working with these two great producers and get to travel to Los Angeles for a week this month to write and record with Matt! Ahh, the troubled life of travelling musicians. How do we cope?

One last thing. It has just been announced that These Kids Wear Crowns are touring with Hedley, Lights and San Sebastian in September. Check our Myspace for dates! This tour may just destroy reality as we know it…

OH YEA! One MORE last thing! A Big Shout Out to everyone we’ve met across Canada so far and all the people who have come out to the shows we have been so lucky to play! Thanks so much! We love you all because without you we wouldn’t be These Kids!
OH!
