This Cutie Better Call Himself A Cab: Ben Gibbard & Zooey Deschanel File for Divorce

It’s no longer She & Him. It’s just She. And then Him. Ben Gibbard and Zooey Deschanel are calling it quits after two years of marriage. The pair wed in September 2009, separated in October 2011, and filed for divorce December 27th.

Deschanel is the one who filed for divorce, citing the increasing trendy reason “irreconcilable differences“. Interesting, the date they decided to separate (as listed on their divorce papers, according to TMZ.com) is Hallowe’en. I wonder what happened on one of the most fun nights of the year?

No other details are available about the divorce at this time. Deschanel currently stars in the comedy New Girl and also sings as part of the band She & Him. Gibbard is the lead singer for the band Death Cab For Cutie.
