This New Lowell Video Is A One-Take High School Fantasy

July 29th, 2014

Canadian up-and-comer Lowell has been on our radar for quite some time now, ever since she released the dynamic EP, I Killed Sara V. earlier this year. But now, as she prepares for the release of her debut album We Loved Her Dearly, we have a brand new video for her latest pop gem, The Bells.

The video stars Lowell in a fantastical high school football field surrounded by guys with painted faces and cheerleaders throwing their pom poms in the air. It appears to be shot in one take, which makes it all the more impressive to see the choreographed cheerleaders, dancers and running around all come together to become something like the lovechild of Feist’s 1234 and Grimes’ Oblivion. But don’t get us wrong, The Bells is entirely Lowell’s unique vision and one that we can’t wait to see more of.

Watch Lowell’s new music video for The Bells below! Lowell’s debut full-length We Loved Her Dearly comes out on September 16.
