T.I. Not Dead, But Gone (To Jail)

First of all, I would just like to apologize for that title. I wanted to stop myself, but it was like there was an unbeatable force controlling my fingers. Second of all, T.I. is going to jail for a year.

This morning a Northern Georgia judge sentenced T.I. to one year and a day of jail time on felony weapons charges. He said the rapper’s plea deal was “experimental”, but a success. The plea deal included T.I.’s suggested 1,000 hours of community service before sentencing, as well as a $100,000 fine and another 500 hours of community service after his time behind bars. If he succeeded, he would be sentenced to a year and a day. The judge said T.I. “more than exceeded the court’s expectations.”

He’s scheduled to report to prison voluntarily within the next six to eight weeks. Apparently the specific length of the sentencing is notable, possibly meaning that he could get out of jail earlier on good behaviour.
