There is so much talent in Toronto and we feel it’s a good idea to take a minute (or a post) and pay some homage. It may be something new, something old or something fairly recent but either way it’s certified Toronto.
This week we got BADBADNOTGOOD, a jazz fusion band from Toronto. The group consists of three very talent guys, Matt Tavares on the piano, Alex Sowinski on drums, and Chester Hansen on bass.
If you’re a true hip hop fan then you know that producers frequently sample jazz, soul, and funk music. So today we’re featuring a band, who has turned the tables on some rap artists as they’re covering their songs instead. The free EP features songs off Tyler, The Creator’s album, Goblin, and Odd Future’s, Bastard. They also do great renditions of “Electric Relaxation” by A Tribe Called Quest, and “Hard In the Paint” by Waka Flocka Flame.
This is a fun EP done by serious musicians. These guys can really play and they picked great songs to cover, something old, something new and something fairly recent.
