#trending: Katy PURRY!

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I hope you got a chance to check out our new episode of #trending. It was definitely a lot of fun to put together and, while we had some stressful moments (I mean, interviewing Avril Lavigne AND Katy Perry for the same show?!), I think the episode turned out amazing in the end! What did you guys think?

If you were following our tweets last week, you’ll know that getting our interview with Katy was quite the process! Katy was in Toronto to launch her new fragrance PURR at Sears and we were invited to chat with her about the perfume and how she developed it. We were greeted at the Sears head office by a bunch of publicists and promptly led into a room where a ton of other media members were waiting. Soon afterwards, we were all led into a larger room where Katy was looking radiant and waiting for us in front of a giant PURR backdrop. I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she looked in person! She was wearing cat ears (as you saw in the episode) and her hair was sort of an in-between red and blond colour. She was also a lot skinnier than in the past. I guess dancing up a storm on tour every night is good exercise! Anyway, we eventually got our turn to chat with Katy and she was super sweet and fun to talk to! A lot of people question whether or not celebrities are actually involved in their fashion brands but Katy was really hands-on in the creation of this perfume, from choosing the different scents to designing the cute bottle. She also mentioned how both music and fragrances have “notes” – a pretty cool way to tie everything together.
