Katy Perry’s song “California Gurls” is poised to be the song of the summer and the new video is giving fans a sugar high. But one candy company, Trolli, is distancing themselves from the video which includes a scene of two gummy bears flipping off Katy Perry.
John Leonardo, the senior brand manager of Farley’s and Sathers, Trolli’s parent company, said that the bears in the video definitely aren’t Trollli Gummi Bears because they would never be that rude. “Trolli bears would extend their chubby little arms and give Katy a big old bear hug and whisper, ‘Everything is going to be alright’,” he told MTV.
Katy Perry will be performing at this year’s MMVAs which air on MuchMusic on June 20.
