Before we get to the OTHER major shocker of the episode (NICK!?!) how cool was it Cassie finally let her Grams in on all her lies all the fun?
Melissa went uber-evil (and hit on Faye…) and almost unleashed a suitcase full of demons. But victory didn’t come cheap (NICK!?!) and we learn a little bit more about what their parents did sixteen years ago.
Read on for the full drama (NICK!?!) and don’t miss an all-new episode of The Secret Circle next Friday @ 9PM ET following The Vampire Diaries.
Melissa is all evil and stuff now. Including crashing into lockers, deep growl-ly voice and gassy-baby faced. But she ain’t alone. There’s a suitcase she dug up (well, forced Nick to dig up) full of demons their parent’s summoned sixteen years ago.
‘Cause misery loves company!

Now she just needs the Circle to open it up, and all’s well for the demons. So she summons each witch in her own non-Melissa way. She seduces Nick, tries to seduce Faye (there’s definitely a HUGE lesbo vibe going on with Faye), and pulls in Cassie to the fray.
But she can’t reach Adam and Diana. Apparently eating whipped cream of their bodies and having sex makes them too busy to answer Melissa’s phone calls. But not Cassie’s.

After seeing the snake/worm-like thing that possessed Heather last week run across Melissa’s foreward this week, the witches realize their in over their heads. Especially when Melissa takes a pair of shears to Nick’s throat to get them to do her bidding.
While their children are raising all kinds of hell, Charles Meade decides to mack Dawn Chamberlain for realz. Oh, and raise a little hell of their own. They try a spell to locate more of those handy-dandy crystals…but no cigar. And no mack for Charles.

That’s zero for two. Ouch!
Back to the hell-raising. Cassie brings in Grama Jane cause God knows these kids are in way over their heads. Jane whips up a can of kick-ass faster than you can say hocus pocus and realizes the demon went into Nick.

Who just conveniently ran away to cause more havoc elsewhere. Faye comforts a now-back-to-normal Melissa while the others destroy the suitcase of demons. Only burning or drowning can destroy a demon, so they burn the suitcase in a bathtub in their little hideout.

Nick calls Adam up and says he’s at The Boathouse and he’ll kill is father unless they bring him the suitcase. Let’s just say I’m glad he never finds out it got destroyed.
While at the Boathouse, he runs into his old friend Dawn Chamberlain. Oh yeah, they go way back. About sixteen years to be exact. Whatever is possessing Nick is what Dawn, Charles and the rest of the rent’s summoned the night of the fire. And now it wants to possess Dawn’s body.

She agrees, but only to stall until she can figure out a way to get the demon out of Nick. Charles, who’s used to doing Dawn’s dirty work by now, comes to her rescue…but not the kind they were planning on.
They drown Nick. As in two full-grown adults murdered an innocent teenage boy in cold blood. And then left him there for the police to find. By the time Cassie and Co. arrive, the police have already ruled it an accidental drowning.

So the demon is gone, but so is Nick. Yes, I was SHOCKED TOO! They killed off a main cast member five episodes in! This show is definitely not messing around. The magic they’re playing with is real, and have very deadly consequences.
Next week, they mourn the loss of Nick..and meet someone else who might be able to complete their circle.

RIP Nick. We hardly knew ya, but we’ll miss ya!
Double, double toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble. Let The Secret Circle take you under its spell:
Episode 4: With Witches, Come Demons. Duh!
Episode 3: Umm…Diana, Where The Hell Did You Put My Powers?
Episode 2: “Watch Who You’re Binding, Yo!”
Episode 1: “You’re A Witch. We All Are. There!”
