Don’t get me wrong. I love me some Usher. You Make Me Wanna was mah jam in Grade 7 (because it’s so easy to relate to complicated love triangles in junior high?). Confessions is easily one of the greatest R’n B albums ever released. The man is talented, but the man also gets that you don’t mess around with the King of Pop.
Usher performed during last night’s iHeart Radio Music Awards, silently, to a new song off Michael Jackson’s second posthumous album Xscape. While many likely suspected that this hush hush performance of Love Never Felt So Good would include Usher singing the track, the celebrated musician instead put his dance skills to the test and let Jackson carry the vocals.
Love Never Felt So Good is an upbeat pop track that Jackson recorded sometime in the 1980s or 90s. Most of the tracks from Xscape were written and recorded during the making of Bad and Dangerous, with writing credits on Love Never Felt So Good going to Paul Anka. Jackson worked on the album’s title track Xscape in 1999, later revisiting it in 2007 before his death.
Love Never Felt So Good is available on iTunes today and Xscape is set to be released on May 13.Tweet
