Nope, it’s not a lie, there’s a beef brewing between Usher and Jay-Z and it has nothing to do with music. They’re both married so we know it’s not over a girl either. What else could it be? (hint: it’s over a boy).
If you weren’t aware, Jay-Z is a part owner of the New Jersey Nets basketball team. Usher is a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. OK, but no one is going to take a basketball game that seriously, right? Well, if you’re a part owner of a team then the success of that team can make you more - or less - money. And, let’s say, you have the “next Michael Jordan” on your team - or LeBron James, to be specific.
LeBron plays for Usher’s Cavaliers. But for some reason spends a lot of time with Jay-Z. Like, Jay-Z will talk to LeBron even when he is on the court beating Jay-Z’s own team, and they even throw an annual party together every NBA All-Star Weekend (In addition to Jay-Z writing diss songs to help LeBron).
Still don’t see it? Well, Jay-Z is in motions to bring the Nets to Brooklyn - it’ll happen after the 2009-10 NBA season. And LeBron James? He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in, you guessed it, the 2010 season.
If I had to bet, I would put the farm on LeBron joining Jay-Z in the jump to New York, and Usher getting no love in the club (And yes I know they just did a song together but I don’t see that changing anything when the time comes - this is the “next Michael Jordan” after all).

Nahhhh .. I don’t see LeBron choosing Jay-Z over his hometown, you know? I think he’s trying to build a legacy in his own city.
