Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, which can mean different things to different people. Is this your chance to show someone you’ve just started seeing how you feel about them, or is Valentine’s Day a great way to remember to give some love to the person you used to spend all your time with and now feel like you’re two ships passing in the night?
Whether your love is fresh out of the oven or aged like a nice cheese, there are great V-Day gifts you can still get your significant other on February 14. And boy, do they ever vary. We rack up some suggestions for NEW versus OLD relationships.
NEW: Pillowcases to show how fun it is to sleep next to one another.
OLD: You’ve been together long enough to know that sleep time is a battle to steal covers.
NEW: You respect your new partner’s dietary restrictions with these custom vegan chocolates.
OLD: You search the aisle for something that won’t make your significant other have an allergic reaction because you care for their well-being and because you just CAN’T spend another holiday in the ER because they don’t read ingredients.
NEW: Your gift includes the coordinates of the place where you first met.
OLD: You need a list of all the things that have happened in your relationship because neither of you can remember what you did yesterday.
NEW: You are one another’s favourite thing in the world right now.
OLD: If this isn’t love then I don’t know what is.
NEW: The person you’re dating is just THE BEST, but you’re not quite ready to drop the ‘s’ in this statement.
OLD: Dear god, please don’t let this person who puts up with your shit get away.
NEW: You order custom candies extra-early to ensure they’ll arrive in time for V day.
OLD: You’ve gotten much smarter about this.
NEW: You make reservations weeks ahead of time for a meal that is three times as expensive as it would be on February 13 or 15.
OLD: You agree to celebrate Valentine’s Day a week later and instead, spend February 14 at home with a pizza and your favourite show to watch together.
NEW: Anytime is sexy time and you know things will always be that way.
OLD: No they won’t.
