Vampire Weekend being sued by ‘Contra’ covergirl

Indie rockers Vampire Weekend are being sued for $2 million by Kirsten Kennis – the model who appears on the cover of their latest album “Contra”.

Kennis claims the photo that appears on the cover was taken in 1983, and she never gave her permission for it to be used on the album cover. The lawsuit states that the photographer may have signed off on the release by that Kennis never signed it.

Kennis is suing Vampire Weekend for not verifying the legitimacy of the photo release. Ouch. Vampire Weekend is a big band and all, but $2 million is a lot of cash!
