VFest 07 – Hot Hot Heat Guest Blog

So we are backstage at VFest!

What can I say that hasn’t been said before. Well I will say that I’m not a fan of reading band blogs or band interviews. Why? Because most musicians don’t say what they mean.

They just say the first thing that pops in their head that second… and that’s if you’re lucky. Most of ‘em just say the thing that makes them look the best – not everyone can be Henry Rollins…and even him…Anyway, why are people so afraid to show the real them?

I once read that the day Nirvana appeared on SNL for the first time, he was so strung out on heroin, that the only thing that cheered him up was the phone call he received that told him Weird Al Yankovic was doing a parody of one of their songs. But wait! That’s not the Kurt Cobain we know! We are only told of the brooding junkie – not the little boy who tells stupid jokes and loves Weird Al. Ah well, I guess they can’t all be Nardwuar!
