Just saw Emily & Friends an hour ago, and as always, no disappointments in sight. You know, you could ramble all youse want about how when bands play festivals, they should bang off all the tunes that make the audience go wild, but it doesn’t always have to be that way: Metric played three or four new songs and they sound great. Let’s consider ourselves lucky for hearing them before they’re even recorded to CD! Yuh huh, privilege. One new track asks, “would you rather be the Beatles or the Rolling Stones?” Emily posed the question to the audience and apparently, there is an exact 50/50 ratio of Beatles to Stones fans in the crowd. Later, the band led an amazing sing-a-long at the end of their at least 10 minute rendition of “Rock Me Now”. I love these douches, so I was quite happy with the performance, thank you very much. I say good day.
Highlight: Dead Disco
Wish List: “Hustle Rose” and “Combat Baby” - both SO good live! Sad to miss them this time.

Metric blew my socks off…dead disco definitely was the highlight. liked the new songs though too.
Who is Metric? The little local band that opened the show?
lol
that wasnt soft rock star we were sining along to it was “rock me now” they didnt play sonft rock start but I wish they had
Thats crazy do you even know what your talking about?
It’s true - they didn’t play Soft Rock Star - it was ROck Me Now (better!) But Soft Rock Star is good too.
Either way, whichever song you like better, it doesn’t really matter because they are Metric songs, which automatically qualify them as awesome. because they still played a kick-ass set, and we were PRIVILEGED enough to hear some of their new stuff.
Rah rah oo la la rama ma la la gaga!
