Made in the 80′s? M.I.A. performs @ VFest ’07 – Click to rate this photo

First off, my team has just deserted me so that they could go see the Enter Shikari set at the Future Shop stage BUT that’s ok because I was lucky enough to catch the last half of M.I.A.‘s set…And let me tell you, it was worth every minute. Now, I’ve never seen M.I.A. in a stadium setting but she did not disappoint. When I got to the stage, people were dancing their hearts out to Bucky Done Gun…She tore it up…It looked like a Nylon spread come to life. I’ve honestly never seen a crowd so trendy. I remember making this exact comment when I went to see her at the Phoenix Concert Theatre two years ago… But honestly, the number of beautiful and trendy people dancing was absolutely sickening..

Back to the show. When M.I.A. went into the first few opening lines of Kala she grabbed a few people from the audience and had a full out dance party onstage. People were going insane. They were just ripping up the stage, as if they belonged there. k-os even joined in on the fun!

Ladies and gents, I’m seriously back in love with M.I.A. I think I’ll be pulling out the neon jumpsuit tomorrow. Maybe not, but Kala will def. be in heavy rotation on my ipod.
