How cool are the girls from Smoosh? So cool, in fact, that youngest sister Maia (just 10 years old) & I were just chatting about Bloc Party & Simian vs. Justice’s “We Are Your Friends” while we ate popsicles from the ice cream truck. Maia recognized the music playing in between band sets and started singing along.

The girls played a killer cover of Bloc Party’s song “This Modern Love” and it sounded spectacular! Chloe (15 years old), Asya (13 years old) and Maia seem to have created quite the buzz cause I’ve heard a lot of people raving about their set! Originally Chloe & Asya were a duo but Maia has followed in her sisters’ musical footsteps and picked up the bass - what a little rockstar! How cool would it be to tour around with the likes of The Pipettes & other indie darlings at such a young age!?

Oh, and I just spotted Nardwuar backstage - up to trouble, no doubt!
