Sexy in fishnets, The Vincent Black Shadow kicks things off @ VFest ’07 – Click to rate this photo

When Vancouver quintet The Vincent Black Shadow (TVBS) took the stage @ 1:30, hardly anyone had arrived at VFest on this beautiful sunny day. But the lovely frontwoman, Cassandra Ford, sang her heart out anyway – and if you sing it, they will come. And come they are, as the music fans are quickly filing onto Toronto Island by way of ferry and water taxis.

TVBS sounded great and there is even more to come. Like you, I’m watching the concert from home (via MuchLoud and MuchAXS). Wish I could be there in person but unfortunately I have a fractured calcaneous (look it up), but no worries – my TV and computer speakers are going to get progressively cranked until I also have fractured eardrums.

Interesting fact: TVBS is actually a family affair – the guitarist, drummer, and bassist are all brothers. So it is fitting that they kicked things off for us. I’d like to think that everyone watching the show today is one massive family and instead of bonding over a big Thanksgiving turkey or Christmases past, we are thrown together through our love of all things rock n’ roll. (And the black sheep of the family are relegated to the mosh pit).
