VFest 08: Against Me!

So I’m not going to lie: I really didn’t follow Against Me! all that much to begin with and only really got to know them when their most recent disc came out and I happened to see Butch Vig (he of Garbage and Nirvana fame) in one of their videos.

Then, someone I know down from Texas (of all places), gave me a little more information about the band and their music and I became interested in them. This was my first time checking them out live and I have to say that they had a great set.

Honestly, Against Me! should’ve had the slot right before the Foo Fighters as they were the perfect band to get the crowd jacked up and prepped for them. Great energetic set, although it would’ve been nice if they could’ve done a couple of acoustic numbers since they were playing in the middle of the afternoon. Oh well! C’est la vie!
