I headed over to the Bacardi B-Live tent to check out Thunderheist and was pleasantly surprised to see and hear that the duo made up of Isis and Grahmzilla would be in fact performing and not just DJing. Sweetness.
Let me start by saying that Isis is a total firecracker. She was jumping around on stage, shimmying her way into the crowd to perform parts of her songs, bumping and grinding with ladies in the front row, and egging on the better dancers. During a few noteworthy songs a trio of girls clad in knee-high socks and printed tshirts hit the stage to perform choreographed dance moves that accompanied the music. In addition to Thunderheist staples Suenos Dulces, Jerk It and Bubblegum, the duo performed Little Booty Girl, a cover song that I didn’t recognize (but everyone else seemed to) and then another song that had The Knife’s Heartbeats as the backing track. If anyone can identify those two tracks, that’d be rad. I also loved it when Isis sang Peer Pressure - notably the line “we don’t give a f**k f**k f**k”, which the crowd gladly chimed in on.
