Here’s Dallas Green of City & Colour rocking out on stage shortly after Stars finished their set. I swear the volume was cranked up to eleven when he hit the stage, cause every conversation from 5:10pm onwards necessitated shouting.
I was pretty happy to finally see (and hear) the second City & Colour
album in a live setting since I haven’t yet had a chance to give it a proper listen since it came out. And wow…it’s a lot heavier and louder than his first album, Sometimes.
Virgin Festival in Calgary proved to be the perfect setting for Dallas’ new material (Bring Me Your Love) – not only were Attack In Black members Dan and Spencer (who helped Dallas on the album) able to join him on stage as his backing band, but when it came time to perform Sleeping Sickness, a collaboration with Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip, the ‘magically’ made himself available and joined Dallas on stage to sing it the way it was meant to be sung. Amazing!
