By this time last year we all knew that Foo Fighters and Oasis would be headlining VFest and just waiting on smaller acts to be announced. This year however, it’s totally different. The date and venue haven’t even been announced and that’s kind of a bummer because I’ve enjoyed the past four VFests.
There have been a bunch of rumors that this years VFest would not take place on the island and instead would be somewhere in Orillia. This rumor may have been unofficially confirmed yesterday when Toronto artist Thunderheist & New York based artist Trouble Andrew both updated their MySpace tour listings and added a Virgin Festival - Toronto date for August 30 with the venue being in Orillia, ON.
Then today there were rumblings of Nine Inch Nails adding more dates to their US tour and have added on their official site that a Toronto date was one of the new dates added. This was the quote on their site “An offer to headline V-Fest in Toronto (being announced soon) set the idea in motion to play some FUN shows to end this up with.”
With that said, I’m pretty sure that NIN will be headlining one of the two dates (Aug. 29/30) and I’m really hoping that the Orillia venue is just a rumor because it seems like a trek to get there. I am now left wondering who else could be added. Who do you think will be added to this years VFest?

I would prefer if Stereos, Hostage Life and The New Cities perform at V-Fest in Toronto (Ahem, Orillia)…..
I’m pretty sure it’s going to be at Burl’s Creek Park. I think they originally meant to have it take place at Toronto Island Park again this year but the strike is stopping them from doing so which is a shame. I for one know I won’t be able to make it out to Orillia, and I think it’s a bit ridiculous for V-fest to be there. I’m selfishly hoping the rest of the line-up is a disappointment so I don’t have to feel bad about not going, haha.
i’m from orillia ![]()
it works nicely for me.
Khristopher is not right, Alberto. You used a correct image of the current NIN lineup. Ilan Rubin, Robin Finck, Trent Reznor, and Justin Meldal-Johnsen. I’m not sure what Khristopher is talking about.
Looks like it will be August 30, cause NIN is in Chicago on the 29th

I really hope it’s not at Orillia either. I really want to see NIN before they disappear, and I don’t want to go all the way there to see them. I think if it is held there, there will be a lot of unhappy people.
PS: That image you used is very old. The only member of the band in that image now is Trent himself.
