This video made me smile as soon as the beat kicked in. I love the play on words with LL’s ‘Going Back to Cali’ mixed with all things 80′s & 90′s hip hop. It’s such a fun and lively video – check out the dancing right off the top! It makes me wish that dancing like that was still cool. And speaking of cool, how about the blast-from-the-past fashion trends? You’ve got the Kangol hats, thick gold chains, giant cell phones and last but not least…the Nike and Adidas wind-breakers. Ahhhh, suddenly I feel all warm and tingly inside.

It’s always good to hear a song that makes you want to move, but it’s even better when you know it’s home-grown. I’m a huge fan of the Canadian talent that we have here and I think Josh Martinez, Classified and Skratch Bastid really stepped up to the plate. The song gets your head nodding and the video keeps that feeling going. And even though I’m not from Hali, I’m feeling the Scotia pride! Check out ‘Going Back To Hali’ and see what you think of it.
