There’s a lesson to be learned from having that one extra drink, kids, and Luda is here to preach it. I have to say this video definitely made my Friday. And after watching it, you’ve gotta wonder how many people have been in these situations…waking up to the shocking realization that your judgement wasn’t at its best the night before. Eeeks! I can’t say I can relate, but I do feel bad for those who can.

I like when artists use storytelling in their music videos and I think this is something that Ludacris does really well, especially when he’s being silly. At the beginning of the video, you notice that Ludacris’ right hand is fake, but you don’t know why. He’s at a DDA meeting (Drinkers & Daters Annonymous) and as he tells his story to the rest of the group, it’s revealed that he woke up beside a girl that was so hideous, he chewed off his right arm to avoid laying in bed with her. (Now that’s dedication to the escape!)

The surprising and yet funny thing about this song is that he’s not saying to steer clear of the ugly folk at bars and clubs, he’s saying to down one more drink to help your eyes get over it. Of course, the message is clearly sarcastic and the video is all in good fun, which is why it caught my attention this week.

And…if you didn’t enjoy the video as much as I did after watching it for the first time, then I hope at the very least you enjoyed any one of T-Pain’s outrageous top hats.
