‘Part Of The List’ is easily my favourite track off of the ‘Year of The Gentleman’ album, with Miss Independent coming in at a close 2nd. I really admire Ne-Yo’s writing/singing/producing abilities because he makes it easier to understand a situation you may have never been in, just through the execution of the song. Who’s with me here?

The video is exactly what you’d expect – a story about 2 people who are out of a relationship, but still emotionally tied to eachother. In the first scene of the video, Ne-Yo runs into his ex at a record store and immediately finds himself being introduced to her fiancé. Awwwwwwkwarrrrrd! But, have no fear, since this is Ne-Yo’s video, he does get the girl in the end…even if it’s only for a day. They take a stroll through the city, admiring the surrounding structures like tourists, sometimes getting caught up in a light jog while trying to catch the other person…you know, all of that romantic stuff that plays back so well in slow-motion. Yay! for happy-ish endings!

I thought it was interesting that he’d put this video out after ‘Mad’, since the ending of this video ties into the beginning of the other. Check out Ne-Yo’s latest video and see what you think of it!
