I can’t help but love everything that Raphael Saadiq puts out, including this track right here. Ever since the days of Tony Toni Tone, I’ve loved his voice and there’s no doubt that I’ll have this track on repeat for the next little while…

The ‘Love That Girl’ video has a very ‘real’ feel to it. It’s not 3:14 of Raphael playing up the camera with scantily clad girls walking through the shot. He actually never looks at the camera and the girls in the video are really quite simple…looks like the clean-cut video isn’t extinct afterall!

I love the strong behind the scenes feel, with the handheld shots of him playing in the studio and then singing during his photoshoot. It almost feels like a ‘making of’ video. I chose this video as my pick of the week because it’s simplicity lets the song speak for itself. Not too much happens here and yet somehow that’s enough for me.
