Video Poll of the Week: Ida Maria (likes you better naked)

New to the spotlight, and my favourite pick of everything else I’ve watched so far this week: Norwegian rocker Ida Maria‘s video for I Like You So Much Better When You’re Naked.

On one hand, I’m loving the quirky, pseudo-behind the scenes style of the video. The song is pretty catchy too. Those drums are practically touching my feet inappropriately, the way my toes are tapping. On the other hand, I don’t know if I can jump on this bandwagon. Ida kinda reminds me of a combination of Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

On the first hand again, she is probably kicking as much behind as the three of them combined, though. That definitely gets a few points, and strangely compels me to keep watching her. It takes nerves of STEAL to wear Catherine Zeta Jones’ Chicago costume AND a polka-dot skirt.

Also worth a look/listen: the spastic editing job in Ida’s video for Oh My God. Oh Ida’s video production team, you so crazy!
