Screaming Girls Everywhere!

When Tim was revealed as the "wild card", there were screaming girls everywhere. Team Erik t-shirts in the crowd. The first official Sean fan club in the audience. Nikki lovers (not literally) everywhere. That was really really exciting. This show is a monster. People whom I would never think would be watching something like this are. I run into them everywhere. I met some grandparents walking their grandkid who stopped to talk to me about it (Sean is their choice, by the way). My friend Andrew Carter, the morning man at CJAD 800 in Montreal just wrote me and told me that "what I said about Sean (ie in a 5000 channel universe, while I was doing my video laps with my remote control, I would stop at muchmusic just to watch sean) was so true", and his daughter is texting for him. He says that she has never been this motivated. She has to get Sean on MuchMusic.

The show is bringing Canadian families together. How bold a claim is that?!?!

I am somewhat disappointed about something, though. The way the cameras were placed for the one-on-ones that Dina was doing had Robin in the background, and sometimes Traci, but not myself. The reason I am disappointed is because you couldn't see what Traci and I were doing; we were mocking Robin's posture. You know how he always has this "intense" look and pose? Everytime he shifted his posture, or fixed his hair or tapped his fingers or rubbed his hands or put on that "hard" face, Traci and I were doing the same thing. If that had been in the background, you would have thought it as funny as she and I did!

So, who's it gonna be?

Lemme know who and why, and I will try and get back to respond (no promises. Right now, in addition to my Mix 99.9 Toronto radio show, my weekend radio show on Sirius Satellite channel 95 and v.o. stuff for A-channel, Space and Drive-In Classics, I am also working on a way to irrigate the desertlands of the worlds to turn them into veritable jungle paradises, and that is eating up a lot of my extra time).

I'm Back

THANK YOU soooo much Canada!! One more shot at becoming your VJ!

I'm so grateful to be back and it's all thanks to you and your hard work at voting. Your support has totally blown me away. You have faith in me and that means a lot. I enjoyed my time off visiting with family and friends, I took in a couple of concerts, but I have also missed being in the action and I'm ready to get back to it! So it was great to get voted back. I was amazed at how much the fans screamed when I walked through the door last night. Wow guys, that's all I can say. It was unbelievable! Sorry I couldn't stay longer after the show to talk to everyone, not my choice, I'm your number one fan though. Honestly you guys rock! I can't explain how I felt when I found out I was the wildcard and now the last 24 hours have been crazy, so sorry my blog is late.

I do want to thank everyone who has come up to me in public too and said hi or that they want me to win, it's people like you that help keep me going.

Monday's show was a lot of fun to shoot. It had a more relaxed feel to it, it was cool talking to Dina and interacting with the live audience. The challenge didn't even feel like a challenge but more of a fun thing to do as a group...kinda like the game we played at MOD with the sign boards. And I'm not even too sure if my buzzer was working all the time haha...it was good though, Sean cleaned up on that...although, it did seem a little like those questions were aimed at him...Pussycat Dolls, Spice Girls, Cher lol, and I'm not ashamed that I wasn't as fast at the buzzer for those ones. But honestly...Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Elisha Cuthbert...who cares haha anyways I had a great time and it was a lot of fun.

Everyone keeps asking if I read the comments left for me after every episode. I do! The good and the bad. Canada, your support is overwhelming. And I'm sorry I can't respond to everyone. It's really hard, there were like 700 comments for one week...you're keeping me busy, but I just wanted to let you know I have read it all and it really does mean a lot for you to take the time to do that.

I would also like to invite everyone reading this to come out to a party/concert I'm having in Oshawa where I grew up. It will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at Le Skratch, and I will be there to talk, to say hi, take pics, and whatever else we feel like doing. Rides Again will also be playing live at 7:00. Doors open at 6:30. It's an all-ages event, no charge, but we will be accepting donations for the Oshawa women's shelter. Hope you guys are in for a great show, the band is awesome, they just played at the Opera House in Toronto Saturday nite. So feel free to come up and talk to them, they are friendly guys. I'm really excited for this guys, and I hope you are too.

I'm so grateful for all the support Canada has shown me this far and I hope that you guys will continue to back me up. I have a lot of work to do so I'll keep this short but I'll be back soon to post again. Talk to you guys soon! Don't forget, keep voting!

The pressure is on!

I got no sleep last night at all! All I can think about is who is gonna win and be the next mut!:6(+!n VJ!! I'm roooooooooootin' for Nikki all the way! I think she is the ONE.

She's great on camera, her smile is infectious, and the fans love her! She's the most improved hopeful and I don't think she's about novelty. Her "act" won't get tired after a few months...CANADA - BE WISE AND VOTE FOR NIKKI!...or at least Tim...lol.

The Breakdown

OK everyone, here's how it is...they are all legitimate contenders, and all deserve real consideration.

I am so proud of all of them. I hope I helped them evolve in some small way. I hope I did a good job.

Erik! This dude is for real. When you go to vote, really really consider this...he's good at everything, he's worked harder than everyone, is driven to constantly improve and, if you have reservations about him, it may be just because you heard his competitors insulting him, and believed the hype. This guy's for real. Don't believe the hype.

Nikki! Beautiful, talented. She can do this. She's got what it takes. This girl ain't bland no more. If you cast your vote for her, you will be voting for someone VERY deserving. As I said, Nikki has what it takes and I'm confident that, if she wins, she will get better and better.

Tim! You love him. How can you not? He's so likeable, even I like him. You don't need me to honk this cat's horn. You already voted him back.

Sean!!!

Sean is my pick for VJ. He's the best one. He's funny, charming, talented, and unique. He kicked ass tonight, and handed Tim (and the others) his ass in the music knowledge competition. I thought Tim and Nikki were the ones with all the music knowledge. Nobody doubts Sean anymore now. He got more points in the music knowledge competition than EVERYONE ELSE COMBINED!

If you, like me, vote for Sean, I think you will be helping hire someone very special, someone who will help MuchMusic, Canada's original music station, continue to evolve and grow. And continue to be the best. And I'm done talkin' about his sexual orientation. I'm done hearin' about it.

He deserves more respect than that. He is so much more than that.

But, as you know, it is all up to you. Honestly, any of these four would be (will be) a great VJ, a great person to bring you music, news, and culture.

I say vote Sean. But it's up to you.

Please respond to my blog (thanks!) and tell me what YOU think.
And please vote, and tune in next week and see YOUR new MuchMusic VJ.
I can't wait.

Crossing My Fingers

It's been a lot of fun being back at home in Edmonton and Pierceland. It was so nice to see my family, friends and all the anonymous people I've been talking to. But, to be honest, I really miss being in Toronto. I really hope my fellow Canadians vote me back in so I can come back to the big TO. If I'm not the one voted back in I want to thank everyone who voted for me, and if you didn't vote for me then thanks for voting for my fellow competitors, every one of them definitely deserves a vote.

I've been doing quite a bit since I got back. I've done press, threw a party at Union Hall to say thanks for everyone's support, went back to work for a bit, got my headshots done (they are hilariously awesome), and have been waiting for Monday's show to see who the wildcard is. I've also been spending a lot of time reading the blogs. I know I haven't read them all, but I've read the majority of them (you crazy Canadians and your blogging - LOVE IT!)

Thank you so much for everyone's support. It's nice to see that there is other people in Canada backing me up when people are shooting me down. Don't get me wrong, I love that everyone takes their time to blog even if it is to criticize. I take everyone's advice into consideration so I can try make the most of what I have to offer.

To anyone that doesn't think I would be a very good VJ at all: I think maybe you should have taken the time enter into the contest and live your life in front of all of Canada to critique everything you do. If you did enter - hmmm, doesn't look like you made it.

And that's where my bitchiness will stop! If I had a chance to do the contest/show all over again I sure would! I suggest to anyone who even thinks about entering something like this (whether it's Canada's Next Top Model, Canadian Idol or The MuchMusic VJ Search), definitely do it! It is very much worth it and it's not every day you get to pursue your dreams in this kind of manner.

Some people have left their email addresses for me to email them, crazy me, as of right now I think I'm gonna drop some of you a line cause you guys are all hilarious (and I mean that in a good way).

I have to say some of the most fun I've had for press was on 91.7 The Bounce with Pepper and Dylan (they were the most fun I've ever had in the morning, teehee, definitely tune in to listen—they are a blast), and with Leslie-Ann on NTV (girl, you gotta apply for the VJ Search next year). I have to say though, my favourite person to listen to on the radio in the evenings is Fearless Fred. Not only is he the most opinionated, hilarious person on the radio but he also hosts TNA Saturdays at The Union Hall. If anyone takes any of my advice right now it should be this: tune in to 100.3 The Bear Monday to Friday from 6pm - midight to listen to Fearless Fred's Radio Extravaganza.

While I'm on this giving advice wave I must leave you with another piece of quorky nonsense advice (and I'm sure this will stir up the blogs): If someone is looking for something and can't find it, no matter what it is CLAIM YOU ATE IT!

A Little Update

Hey guys!

It was the best of times; it was the worst of times! You think life be great since the show right? Well sure it has its perks, I mean I was on TV, but what about my life? My whole life has been on ice ever since. I live in Toronto, but I been in my hometown of Montreal for the past month living everyday to its fullest. Welcomed into its open arms where the people show me love like I'm a war hero, I love 'em for that.

The people who write me blogs, and show me love, I love y'all for that as well. I'm always reading them as you know, and I try my best to respond with emails or blogs of my own.

It's just been so crazy. Norm came down with some friends; my boys came down from New York. I treated them to the Montreal nightlife I swear Norms eyes swelled when he hit strip. Ha ha, it's crazy as hell down here. I figured that I should share this with you guys...um, I was involved in a car accident, I almost died, but lucky I'm still here and my boys that where in the car as well. We hit a tree coming off the highway but we're good, the car's totaled though. My face is a little scratched up though, I had to wear a band-aid on my nose for a minute, but that was all good...if I walk away from a deadly car accidents with a couple of scratches, I'll take it any day. That didn't stop me never the less from enjoying myself, nah. I just had to explain it to every-fricken-body.

Who knew that in Montreal everybody watched the show, even les francais. I'd be walking down the streets and people be like "t'as tu gagne encore?" I was like what? That's crazy. The worst joke however was, did Erik do that, a rumour of course started by Norm (lol). We were supposed to meet 112, but Norm hadn't come down yet and I was still on ice from my accident so we skipped it and the next day we met up with some playboy models...Hot! Hot! Hot! We got footage of that and the club scene, it was crazy!!!

While I was at Steve's Music here in Montreal doing my routine equipment checkup, I ran into Lindsay Robins' guitarist; whom I guess recognized me from the show. Pretty cool apparently they too are from Montreal so you know who they are rooting for huh?

Well I've had my fun here in Montreal but I'm beginning to feel real unproductive here now so I am looking forward to getting back to Toronto to continue my music career and finish music school...uh yeah and Marianas Trench is coming down too. Maybe we can bend a few elbows after their show. These guys are wicked, I met them at the Theory of a Deadman's concert in Edmonton, they were one of the opening acts (from B.C.) also signed to 604 records, check out their album this spring. Anyways I'm just gonna give to a few shout-outs b4 I bounce - respect Brownboi, Joseph, MTL, Iceman, Cristinaaaaa, TheIleostomyKing, Choubaka, PjmC and the rest of you who have had my back from the get go!

Peace out

Frank

P.s. happy birthday Uddy (that's my little brother). Oh yeah and by the way vote or die is the slogan that P. Diddy or whatever he calls himself nowadays used to encourage youth voting during the 2004 presidential elections.

Wildcard Winner: Casey-Jo's Blog

Now that I have your attention (muwhahaha) I wanted to thank everyone once again for doing all that they could in attempts to bring me back like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Everyone that went to their schools and voted on multiple computers, everyone who went into debt from text msging and making much music that much richer, everyone who spread the word (and the word was 'legs') oh wait...nevermind!

Anypiddle, if I don't get back on the show and win this, I know that one day people will refer to me like pogs: "Hey remember that Casey-Jo character back in the day? Wasn't she fun and interesting sometimes??" Okay maybe I'm no slammer, but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

NO I do not know any insider information. Trust me kiddies, I'm JUST as frustrated as you are by what's going to be happening here and I was informed this morning actually that I will have to tune in Monday night to see what happens as well, just like every other viewer (what am I chopped liver? damnit)! So who knows what the next surprise will be. "Hurry up and wait" the real TV land talk.

Since I've been back I've had the pleasure of checking out some shows and bands: I am the avalanche (OHEMGEEZ they got me excited in places I never thought possible hahaha), local band theset (wont get to see them at little community places for much longer as they're really gonna hit it outta the park), local band open, parachute! (one of my favorite island bands, I'm not gonna lie!), stutterfly (why their label dropped them still pisses me off and confuses me at the same time), metric (holy crap, see them live and you wont be disappointed, I toughed it out at the front somehow even though people were half beating me to death), and some other amazingly talented local bands italian edition and a black tie social.

I've had the privilege to get local press coverage and meet some fantastic peeps and have a barrel of laughs. Big shout out to my pals at The Zone, 107.3 Kool FM, The Times Colonist, The Nanaimo Bulletin, The Ladysmith Chronicle, and the fine folks at A Channel in Victoria! I got my hurr did a little bit by the talented tine bop! so thanks to her and the fabulous people at Ferreira Young. "OK, let's not talk about it too much Casey", but I do want to say I'm trying to love it and it's given me the opportunity to work on who I am on the inside instead; I think it could be a blessing in disguise. One day I hope to pull it off as graciously as Ms. Natalie Portman. SNL SKIT:
"so Natalie...what's the day in the life of Natalie Portman?"
"do you really wanna know?"
"please tell us.."
"I DONT SLEEP MOTHERF--" etc hahaha

A big hug to the hot ladies at Brun! I want to smother my friends at Malachai Clothing for all the love, support, and trivial pursuit DVD ass kicking they've sent my way! Thank you to Drive-Thru Records for all your love and ultra ill mega dope bands.

What else have you been doing Casey? I've been out gallivanting around, broker than...umm..broke, but smiling and skipping, causing a ruckus as per usual in your nearest Toys R Us and such, cruising the ocean sipping my tea, hugging loved ones, reading and thinking a lot, a little painting and geetar playing, nerding it up online, I've been pretty busy I must say!

OH YEAHS! Thank you very much the mostest to my biggest "fans" out there, of course I'm talking THE MYSPACERS (gotta love it): alex (www.cjforvj.com), delna&jesse, rona, lisa, RUTHIE, joseph, karly m, michelle, josh, mark, alysia, cindy&terry, little matty, booth, sanober and jessica, kaitlyn, davaroo, sean, randy, b-rock&bean, justb, the green splat kids, pear-e-en, jamesy, shawn, kylie, mike, chris, cj, dane&theshow, pirate hooker, noodle and jess, lukepuke, tyson, ryanrae and crystal. There are a lot of you out and there...so sorry if you're disappointed you don't see your name. I've tried to respond to every single message that has been sent to me (still working on it). To everyone I spammed with emails and you've responded and voted and yet you still love me, thank you so much! I LOVE YOU GUYS!! Of course, my friends and family, you better love me no matter what! Muwhaha!! And I couldn't have done it without you. "Have I told - you lately - that I love you...?" (Trivia question: Who wrote it, Van Morrison or Rod Stewart!? Perhaps Lulu Belle and Scotty in 1937?).

You know what, with no formal training and just coming into this I gotta think I did pretty darn good. Sure you weren't shown all the footage of the challenges and maybe you were all caught up in how I acted with the other contestants rather than my work. I'm truly very sorry for things that I said/did on the show that were out of character for me. Being in that environment and all the competitiveness and the drama can really mess with your head. I wasn't the only one talking, but they sure did show me saying things verses showing other people. I would hope you understand. It all happens for a reason and I've learned my lessons, hopefully never to be recreated again.

It all adds to my character: "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved" - Helen Keller. One of the many many things I've learned from this is to deal with being in the media and criticized on every move. It's actually you guys, the haters, which I can thank for making me stronger in the end. So thank you. "It is easy to be brave from a safe distance" - Aesop.

Without the viewers it wouldn't be possible but it also wouldn't have happened if not for MuchMusic, CHUM, and Insight Productions for the opportunity. Thank you for choosing me J. Yay.

In closing, YES I'm as much of a dork as you had regretfully thought and I would love to extend my warmest and kindest thanks to everyone and all...I cant even pinpoint EVERYONE. In the words of P. Diddy: "Can't stop, won't stop ne-eh". Yes, I just quoted the puff man, I can't even believe it myself. Those Dave Chappelle fans will pick up what I'm throwing down... I'm NOT GIVING UP! So love peace and chicken grease...say whaaa!?!! I would like to encourage everyone reading this to think for yourself more often, go outside that box, and try not to always follow that trend/crowd. Heck, while you're at it enjoy the b-e-a-utiful country out there, wherever you may live. "Nothing is worth more than this day" - Goethe. Much love, Casey-Jo

Clearing Things Up

First off, I want to clarify what I meant, "This is going to turn into one big popularity contest", because like almost everything I have said on TV this too has been taken out of context. I was referring to the amount of people that are going to vote based primarily on looks and oversee talent. The message boards are a perfect example. Some think that I am riding on my looks, well first of all, I would rather been know as a smart, confident woman with talent rather than a hot piece of ass. I find that to be completely degrading. Yes I know sex sells, especially in the entertainment industry, but look at Dina; she's smart, driven and beautiful.

As for being boring...ahhh haha man, this word has been haunting me for the last couple of months, can't seem to get away from it. Please give this boring girl a short opportunity to tell you this; I've watched the episodes, I've seen how I was given very little time on camera, and I've seen how my character is portrayed to the public, I think I've probably had a total of 15 minutes air time the entire show. Yeah I seem friggin' boring! I'm not though gosh darn it! Seems like every time they show me doing a challenge they show the worst parts of it, it's sooooo frustrating! Well whatever, can't do anything about it now I guess.

I do want to take the time to thank all of you who have sent me emails, notes on MySpace, and have responded to my blogs with positive or CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. I honestly cannot tell you how much I appreciate all of the support I have been given, thank you thank you thank you.

Vote Or Die!

Why would I ever pretend to be something or someone I'm not? I beat out thousands of contestants to get to where am and I'm proud of that dammit. I don't have to put on a show, I mean sometimes your tempted and sometimes you just do, it's a natural reaction to having a camera in your face. But I stayed true to my word, through all the bullshit, backstabs and challenges, I never turned colour so I could sell out value for change. I was born to do what I do best. Mom's raised me on that value. I lost track a little under that pressure though, but she says that's cool, so it is, period! I was raised in a hood where I've seen drug dealers lose it all for nothing, I've seen the definition of a hustler or a gangsters losing their lives as a way of life, so I get offended when people call me a thug. That's a different level of respect.

Sure I broke bread with them, but I never did the dirt, so how can I earn those colours? That's the most naive thing a person can say, I'm a "thug" because I get angry and I'm black? That's justified?? That's just ignorant. I know the values of hard work and a strong hustle; I spent half my life on the grind (working hard). I seen many things I wish I never did and I have experienced others that have changed my life. With that under my belt, I look not only to bring change to MuchMusic, but culture from untapped sources never ever experienced before in Canada.

Sure I'm from Montreal, but don't be fooled by thinking that I have spent my whole life in the city of a French North. I have been around and across that line that divides us from our southern powerhouse relative. My mental is focused, mature...and in love with melodies, underlined with a baseline, filled in with bed tracks and topped off with vocals. See because I have molded my life around music, whether it's producing her or using her as a sanctuary from reality, she has been my life before, during and will continue to be after Much Music. I don't think that many people understand what it is that I'm trying to bring to table. It is so easy to be sold on what media wants to be popular, many of "choose" not to be media literate, many of us don't have a choice and the rest just don't know. You eat what your fed they say (actually I just came up with that, but it works right?).

What I want to do is bring that non-bullsh*t approach, the "let's cut the crap and get to the source" approach. Isn't that what you wanted Canada? Tell me, was I mistaken? 'Cause I have to say MuchMusic is our means to spread, and share culture around Canada. It's what determines what you like, how you dress, what you say, who you like, basically who you are... self Identity, with options you can toggle back and forth with. We are not all in favor of the same music, style or role model, but if you are to make a choice on that. A choice that will reflect on your whole persona, wouldn't you want the facts...straight?

That's probably the reason why I respect George Stroumboulopoulos so much. He fools you with his appearance, because he is automatically stereotyped, yeah, I judge him! But he shamed me, because when he talks, he knows his sh*t! His interviews are par with some of the greats, no arguments there. I want to bring that back. Maybe I came off on the wrong step, maybe I came off just a bit too harsh... but one thing is for certain, I don't bullsh*t and I take everything I do so, so seriously regardless of what you see on TV (keyword TV). You have to be aggressive. However I never push, I only push back and I stand up for what I believe in, hopefully you will let me stand up for what you believe in. I have said my piece.

Coming Out On Top

Sitting here the day before the final elimination, my head is running wild with thoughts, questions, and a whole lot of wishing I could get a hug from my best friend, my mom, and my boyfriend. For the longest time in this competition, I've started to lose confidence, not so much in myself, but in my ability to win this thing. I kept telling Nikki to win it for me, win it instead of Erik, but I remember a time back in the Gladstone (man that feels so long ago), where I told myself that if I'm not going to win, I'm going to beat Erik. Here I stand at the cross roads between both of those things, winning...and beating Erik.

I can continue to sit here and doubt myself, beat myself up, let all those people who've doubted me from the minute I opened my mouth in this world...win, or, I can decide that it's my time to shine. I came all this way, and I've come all this way to start doubting myself? I don't think so. We make choices in this lifetime, I'm proud of all of mine, be they right or wrong...I made them. I don't regret what got me here and I certainly don't regret anything in this lifetime. However, I feel I may have made a mistake in doubting myself along the way. There's only two days left until I go home...is it too late to have come to this revelation? Absolutely not! If you've always got time for Tim Hortons...then you've definitely got time to believe in yourself.

I'm going to come out on top in this situation. I have what it takes to be an amazing VJ, but more importantly, I have what it takes to survive in this lifetime. No matter how much I've doubted, and lacked confidence in this game...it was all due to the lack of control. I fully have no control of whether I win or lose at this point...I've given it my all and done my best to rock this bitch. Here's hoping. I believe that I have what it takes. There's no such thing as too little too late. I'm here. WATCH OUT!

Curt - I only hope I've made you proud.I can't wait to see you.

Andrea - You told me how proud you are. I'm doing this for you.

Mom and Dad - I'm sorry for anything I've ever said out of anger. I love you both. Your little boy is going to make something of himself yet. Thank you for everything.

To everyone else - Thank you for your support. Thank you for your friendship. And most importantly, thanks for believing in me every time I felt I couldn't.

They Didn't Give Me a Chance

So it's finally begun. The polls are open for people to vote their favourite loser back into the race. I have a feeling Tim is going to win because he's got a big fan base full of teeny boppin girly girls.

To tell you the truth, I want him back on if not me. Well actually, I want Natalie. I would say Frank too, but he had enough chances to show why he should be the VJ. Now on the other hand, I was cut first. I wasn't given the chance to redeem myself. I still don't even know why I got kicked off. Cause I was fake? HAHA. What you know about fake? I don't even want to go there. Should I have to? Whatever...cause I talk this so-called "Bullshit eloquence". At least I had something to say as opposed to saying nothing. Hell nah! But whatever...I'm not here to talk about the past. I'm here to talk about the future. The future of Much and the Vj it hires. I'm still confident that I have what it takes to be a VJ. I'm totally qualified for the position. I have hosting experience from all the events I've MC'd. And holding down large crowds of restless people is a hard thing to do. I have my own variety comedy showcase that I produced independently. The Big Norm Show is on its 6th show. I featured Beat Boxing choirs, half naked break dancing dykes, Freestyle rappers; Art shows showcasing Toronto's best graffiti artists, Electronic funk bobble headed dance troops, a ska band, a B-Boy Battle, and a concert featuring Dave Ghetto, Brass Munk and Circle Research. Music is like second nature to me. I have an extensive knowledge of music ranging from Bobby Womack and Donnie Hatthaway all the way down to Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins.

My knack for music is shown through the many hip-hop, Gospel and R&B tracks that I have produced, wrote, and lay down in various studios. I've performed and danced in front of thousands of screaming people at different venues like the skydome for Philippine National Independence Day and Cne for the Rising Star competition. I have on camera experience from the DVD Magazine I helped produce called DAPPZ the Series. I interviewed people like Farley Flex, Saukrates, Kenny and Ray Robinson, on the red carpet at the Canadian Urban Music Awards. I've had exclusive interviews with Afu Ra and Dip Sets own JR Writer. I have a keen sense of style, and I sure know how to get down to the boogie.

Now the question is...

Do you want a fun VJ that is overflowing with personality and a pretty twisted sense of humour? Do you want a VJ that has a lot of music knowledge and on stage and camera experience? Do you want a VJ with culture and a keen sense of fashion? Do you want someone real? Do you want originality? Vote for Norm. I promise that if I'm given a second chance, I will show y'all what you've missed.

Montreal Part 3

After a night full of beer, babes, and bunnies, I woke up to a pounding thud in the back of my head. No it wasn't a hangover; I banged my head on the wall. Today was a more relaxed day. I walked around downtown Montreal and saw the wonderful shopping areas and restaurants. Of course I had to have some poutine and a Montreal smoked meat sandwich. Later in the evening, we had to go meet Frank and jam again. Before that, as we were leaving the apartment building, we heard loud music coming from this unit. Being the crazy dude I am, I walked in there and crashed the party like there was no tomorrow. The cool thing was, everyone was down with me. I had them chanting "We Love Norm" into my camera! It was awesome. Since we were already late, we had to leave...but I must say, McGill University students rock!

We hit the first club, but it was too rammed. Not enough room to breathe. So we hit another spot. Apparently, this club called Vatican is Frank's main joint. When we walked in, we were treated like royalty. People were not only buying us drinks; they were buying even my friends' drinks just for hanging with us. Everyone wanted to know Frank and me. But people would notice Frank in a jippy, and double take when they see me. Then Frank would do the honours and call me out, and then people would recognize me. So, Franks peoples were jamming, my peoples were jamming, and everybody around us were jamming.

The only thing that was missing...was my good ol Mama Love...that's right, Nathalie. I miss her so much. We had so many good times. Well, at the end of the night, just before we left the club, Frank's bartender buddy sets up 50+ shots of Red Bull and Vodka! Holy! I was done. Just like this blog!

The rest is history!

Montreal Part 2

So we're in downtown Montreal trying to find out which club we going to hit. We hooked up with Frank's promoter friend Carlos, and he got us into this wicked club called Orchid. Plus, my camera crew and the fact that Frank and I are still on the show got us in there like swimwear! To our surprise, a special DJ was spinning that night. Ms. Colleen Shannon, a playboy playmate in 2004 and a very gorgeous one at that, was holding down the 1's and 2's. Franky and I worked our charm and managed to snag an on camera interview with the play mate and her friends, Ms. Tamara Sky, Ms. Bikini Puerto Rico (she was hot) and an upcoming playmate from Winnipeg. Man…that interview was charged full of cleavage and sexy! I had the Spanish fly whispering "Ai Papi!" in my ear...ooooh that made my toes curl!

So after Frank and I took turns asking what wanted, we proceeded to the dance floor to get down with the get down! Frank had that Winnipeg playmate on him like skin! She was doing the booty shake for the camera like it was a rap music video. I would hate to be her father. I had girls dancing up on me too...the only problem was they were like little Asian hobbits (like me) but even shorter. They were bubblin on my knee caps for crying out loud! But they were all cool! There was this dude on this main platform where go-go dancers do their thing. He danced like a goof, and Frank and I had the chance to interview his drunk ass. Of course we didn't know what he was swaying, but it was all fun and jokes. We had the ladies showing us the signals they would give a guy when they are interested in him. I liked when they would demonstrate their seductive dance on us when they showed us their attention-grabbing tactics. You got to love the city of Montreal! Everybody is so ready and willing!

So after all the partying, drinking, and women flocking to Frank, we headed out to the streets only to find out that our car got towed. A whack ending to a great night. But whatever, it was worth it. The amount of money we paid to get the car was less than the amount it would have cost for all the drinks that people bought me and my crew! That night was Priceless...I can’t wait to do it again! Until then, keep it locked!

Montreal Part 1

Before I begin, I would like to put something out there...MONTREAL IS THE REAL DEAL BABY! The Big Norm crew and I rolled down to Montreal to hang with my boy FRANKY...you know that guy that's always drinking on the job. HAHAH! You my boy Frank (he's not really an alcoholic). Because of the voting back situation, I figured it would be a good idea for me to get out in the public and hopefully win some new fans and make sure that they are aware that we can be voted back on to the competition.

Plus, I'm shooting some footage for the Big Norm Show so why not milk my somewhat-semi-star status to the fullest. So I called up Franky, had him set up the accommodations, and the team and I drove down 5 hours to Montreal! When we landed, I saw Frank with a big-ass band aid a top his nose. I was like, "Damn Frank...what, now you're trying to be Nelly?" Then he told me how he got in a car crash a few days before. Then I was like, "Damn Frank...what, now you're trying to be Kanye West!" haha! That's my boy right there. So anyhow, Frank my camera crew and I hit downtown Montreal on St. Catherines and got some golden footage. The response in Montreal was great. People didn't notice me like they noticed Frank. But once they noticed Frank then looked at me, they put 2 and 2 together and realized "oh...it is that Loser guy, what's his name? That dude that got kicked of first...or the maid outfit guy" I must say though...Frank gets more love in Montreal, than I do in Toronto. But that's because I got kicked off too early...and everybody that meets me agrees. They always say that Larissa should have got kicked off first. I had people pull me to the side and say they like me better than Frank...and that's in his home town! MuchMusic. How could you play me like that. People really liked me! We'll see how much they really liked me when the polls open for people to vote us back on. Now I have votes coming from Montreal and Toronto. So much went down her in the MTL, but you're going to have to stay tuned for the next blog.

Much Love,

Mad Love on the Streets

Hey y'all! I've got to say, being in the Loser Loft was not so bad at all. I was walking the streets of the beautiful downtown Toronto, when a group of youngsters noticed me and started screaming NORM!!! Then they started singing my song..."I'm not a loser". I was across the street, so it boggled me how they noticed me from a far - especially with my new mohawk. People don't really recognize me as much as they did when I had the long curly locks. But in the corner of my eyes I see people do the double take when they see me.

I was actually on a streetcar when a large group of Filipino kids noticed me. They started talking about me as if I couldn't hear. So finally when I heard one of the kids daring to ask if I was Norm, I just stood up and walked to the back of the street car and just said straight up, "So what did you guys want to ask me?" The group of kids broke out into a heavy cheer while everybody tried to overpower each others voice just to make sure I could hear them. The streetcar was so loud. When I had to get off my stop, the crowd of kids said their goodbyes all in unison, and promised to vote me back on to the competition. I must say...I can't complain about all this wonderful attention. I just don't want it to fizzle away without me making my mark outside of the VJ search. Hopefully I get voted back on because I wasn't given the chance to really show myself. But we'll see. Much music or not...The Big Norm Show will go on!

Peace in the Middle East!
