It was 20 years ago – September 24, 1991 to be exact – that Nirvana released Nevermind, the album that swept aside a horde of hair-metal bands, changed the face of rock and made “grunge” a household musical term.
In this vintage and worthless (the band’s words) Musique Plus interview, done a couple of weeks prior to Nevermind’s release, all three members of the band (Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl) are on hand, sitting on some kegs, to talk about the advantages of signing to a major label, how the hype about the Seattle scene only brought up the price of rent, and a catchy anthem of youthful alienation called “Smells of Teen Spirit”…” Sorry, make that “Smells Like…”
