Watch an animated Scott Pilgrim short

Before you go see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World this weekend, there’s something you need to watch first.

It’s called Scott Pilgrim vs. The Animation and it’s a a three-and-a-half-minute clip commissioned by the folks at adult swim. Featuring one of the subplots not used in Edgar Wright’s movie version of Brian Lee O’Malley’s graphic novel, the short tells the story of Scott falling for his future drummer Kim Pine and how he won her over by kicking some ass.

Featuring voices of Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman and Allison Pill from the movie’s cast, the cartoon also features the music of lo-fi brat punks Wavves, specifically the song “Post Acid,” taken from their new album King of the Beach.
