Shot in an abandoned hotel in Hamilton, Ontario, City and Colour’s first video from their upcoming release Little Hell is possibly the bands most impressive visual piece to date. Directed by Michael Maxxis, who also worked with City and Colour frontman Dallas Green and his band Alexisonfire for The Northern, the concept for Fragile Bird is the story of a woman working in a brothel who is reliving her past as a prostitute.
Explaining the vision of the video, Green said “We wanted to touch on a really dark, sort of spooky vibe because I think that’s kind of what the song has, especially dealing with what it deals with.” The visuals are ominous and distorted, giving the video an seedy look that turned out beautifully.
